Lend Your Leg Event

Last night was an overwhelming success with close on 200 people attending the event which included the opening of the Art Exhibition of Sally Heinrich’s illustrations for One Step at a Time, and the launch of our Crowdfunding campaign.

With background music by Xylo the evening began with an acknowledgement and Welcome to Country by Irene Gale.Helen Stanger then spoke of the work by SafeGround and explained why the change of name. She gave a brief history of the book to this point. Professor Ian Maddocks then spoke of his work and the work being done by SafeGround. He held the audience spellbound with his words.

Sally Heinrich commented briefly on her work and Jane Jolly spoke briefly about the book before officially launching the Crowdfunding campaign.

Adrian Von der Borch, who was walking on air all night, and who couldn’t get the smile off his face, then thanked everyone for their attendance. A HUGE thankyou went to Peter Bok, the owner of BAPeA Gallery, who has donated the use of his Gallery for the week at no charge. THANKYOU Peter!

Throughout the night many lower legs were given an airing as people supported the Lend Your Leg theme by rolling up one leg of the trousers and tying it with a ribbon. Those who were more demure opted for tying a coloured ribbon around their arm.

Over 24 of Sally’s prints were purchased on the night.
